AI in Healthcare - JuLIA's Second Training for Judges Took Place

The second transnational training event under the JuLIA project took place on 18-19 January 2024, in Trento, Italy, and was dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) systems in healthcare. The first part of the training was dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence systems on the patient-doctor relationship and the patients' informed consent, while the second part focused on the upcoming changes introduced by the EU legislation on liability and the application of these measures in the field of telemedicine, wearable devices, robotics, etc. Sessions alternated between presentations, interdisciplinary discussions, and hands-on sessions (justice labs) aimed at presenting specific applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare and the potential implications for case adjudication. Detailed agenda and materials from the event are available here.

This event is part of a training series for judges from all over Europe to promote AI challenges in the administration of justice in several specific areas. There are two more international trainings planned for 2024 with focus on the application of AI in crisis management and in the context of public administration.
