Transnational Training Event „AI and Crisis Management in the Field of Health”

Period:  16-17.05.2024
Organiser:  Консорциум JuLIA

The third cross-border training under the JuLIA Project was dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) systems in healthcare in pandemic conditions and the experience gained in recent years. The event took place on 16-17.05.2024, in the city of Coimbra, Portugal.

The training sessions aimed to assist European judges in analyzing the extent to which artificial intelligence affects the actions of the public administration in dealing with crisis situations and to show them the main challenges to the protection of fundamental human rights in this context. Issues arising from the use of AI by private healthcare companies to make personalized decisions about patients and the impact of these decisions on the patients' rights were also a subject of extensive discussion.

Sessions alternated between presentations, interdisciplinary discussions, and hands-on sessions aimed at presenting specific applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare and the potential implications for case adjudication.

Detailed agenda and materials from the event are available here.
