‘GDPR for eCommerce’ Training was organized by eCommerce Academy and took place on 15 March 2018 in Sofia.

The training is specifically designed for e-commerce professionals –traders and entrepreneurs offering products or services online. The team of lecturers - Alexandra Tsvetkova, Petar Kirkov and Georgi Ganev, focused on industry-specific legal, organizational and technical aspects of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by looking at how each e-commerce specialist can implement as much as possible of the overall compliance procedures or, if necessary, make an informed decision on an individual consultant or an organization to carry out these activities.

Аlexandra Tsvetkova, director of LIBRe Foundation, presented legal requirements for conducting contracts online, key provisions of the Regulation, basic principles of processing of personal data and guaranteeing the rights of the data subjects, legal and organizational steps towards compliance, control mechanisms provided for in the Regulation, etc. The focus of the lecture was on the preparation and visualization of Privacy Policies and the adaptation of the e-commerce platforms’ functionalities to the GDPR requirements.
