University of National and World Economy in Sofia Hosted an Open Lecture on “European IT Law ‘16”

Experts from LIBRe Foundation introduced students from the University of National and World Economy with current ICT Law issues in the areas of privacy, copyright, trademarks, encryption and security, cloud computing, Internet of Things, and others. The discussion covered wide-spread topics such as “the right to be forgotten” as well as less popular cases and reforms in the European legislation.

Students took active part in the provocative and dynamic discussions spreading from the copyrights on Twitter messages to Warcraft hero’s inheritance.

Throughout the meeting there was also a presentation of the first edition of LIBRe Essay Contest 2016 which aims to motivate young people with interest, knowledge and creative thinking in the field of information society. The contest’s first prize is free participation in a three-week international ICT Law Summer School organised every year by the Institute of Legal Informatics in Germany. There are awards for second and third place as well and all participants will receive a certificate for participation.

The deadline for submission is 30.04.2016.

More information on the terms of participation could be found at: http://contest2016.libreresearchgroup.org/

The meeting took place thanks to Delian Nedelchev, lecturer in Law Basics and Civil Law at UNWE.
