Between 28 and 30 November 2017, the University of Belgrade, Serbia, hosted the 7th SESAR Innovation Day, where the latest long-term research on air traffic management was presented.

The papers and presentations were selected based on an open call for proposals. The event also included a poster and networking exhibition that allowed the participants to learn about interesting projects and to meet like-minded researchers.

The SESAR Innovation Days (SIDs) are also the main vehicle for SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU) to share progress and disseminate results of its exploratory research programme. Unlike other scientific events in air traffic management (ATM) research, the SESAR Innovation Days focus explicitly on long-term and innovative research. Now in its seventh year, the SESAR Innovation Days have become a landmark event in the European aviation research calendar.

Only 44% of all proposed topics were accepted, or 35 presentations out of a total of 79. LIBRe Foundation’s expert Ivo Emanuilov presented the topic of "Autonomous Systems in Aviation: Between Product Responsibility and Innovation". All presentations and posters are available on the event site.
