Legal Design Jam: Drones, Brussels

Period:  17.10.2017
Organiser:  Brussels Legal Hackers
Lecturers:  Иво Емануилов

Ivo Emanuilov, expert at LIBRe Foundation, shared legal and research insights as part of the Brussels Legal Hackers’ Legal Design Jam: Drones. The event took place on the 17th October 2017 and focused on the practical problems, following the commercialisation and the growing popularity of drones. A Legal Design Jam is a collaborative creative session where complex legal information is broken down into a meaningful and easy to understand format.

The European Aviation Safety Agency is in favour of strengthening the upcoming new regulation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) with a regulation proposing measures to mitigate the risks of those systems. One of their suggestions is to require some categories of drones to be sold with an awareness leaflet. The leaflet is directed to the consumers and should contain all the information required to use the drone in accordance with the applicable regulations on aviation safety, security, privacy and data protection, liability and insurance.

The recording of Ivo Emanuilov's participation in the event is free to watch on the Brussels Legal Hackers Youtube channel.
