The GIG-ARTS (Global Internet Governance Actors, Regulations, Transactions and Strategies) conference is a European annual multidisciplinary academic venue to present and discuss developments in Global Internet Governance (GIG) and their implications in and beyond this field of research.
Each year, the GIG-ARTS conference highlights a main theme. In addition to keynote speeches and academic presentations and discussions, at least one roundtable features a debate with practitioners around that theme. The theme of the first GIG-ARTS conference edition in 2017 is: “Global Internet Governance as a Diplomacy Issue”. The conference will take place on 30-31 March 2017 in Paris.

The conference is one of the outcomes of the GIG-ARTS project (www.gig-arts.eu) which is implemented by 19 partners from 13 countries. Among them are Prof Joseph Cannataci from the University of Malta, keynote speaker at this year’s edition of GIG-ARTS conference, and Jeanne Mifsud-Bonnici from the University of Groningen – partners of LIBRe Foundation.
