International Conference on ECLI in Sofia, Bulgaria

Alexandra Tsvetkova, Director of LIBRе Foundation, took part in the International Conference on European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) and the introduction of Open Standards for Legal Documents in Europe.


Alexandra Tsvetkova, Director of LIBRе Foundation, took part in the International Conference on European Case Law Identifier (ECLI) and the introduction of Open Standards for Legal Documents in Europe.The conference was held on 24 April 2018 in the Grand Salon of the Union of Bulgarian Jurists (UBJ), Sofia.The organizers of the conference are APIS Europe and the Union of Bulgarian Jurists.

Mark van Opainen, member of the EU Council's e-Justice Working Group, and Alexander Ivanchev, Head of Sector in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, introduced the participants to the development related to the implementation of ECLI by Member States in the national case-law portals and in the e-Justice and to the prospects for the development and the improvement of the standard.

During the afternoon session presentations on the development of the Unified Information System of the Courts (implemented by the Supreme Judicial Council), the Open Data Portal and the Portal for Public Consultation of the Council of Ministers, the State Gazette website maintained by the National Assembly, the Machine Translation Service of the European Commission etc., also took place.
