e-CODEX Closing Conference


The e-Justice Conference celebrated the success of e-CODEX – a large scale project on pan-European interoperability in the Justice Sector.

The e-CODEX Closing Conference took place on 19 and 20 May in the Netherlands and marked the transition of e-CODEX from pilot into a structured mechanism for extension of interoperability between legal and judicial authorities in Europe.Another important topic of the conference was the relation between digitization, Rule of Law and serving citizens and companies in access to Justice.

The conference was attended by ministers of justice of the Netherlands and Germany as well as representatives of the legal professions and the wider community of e-Justice.

Věra Jourová, European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality spoke on “e-CODEX – Justice Cooperation of the 21st century”.
