The Bulgarian Data Protection Authority Initiates an Awareness Campaign in Four Cities across the Country

The Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection initiated an awareness campaign in four cities in Bulgaria - Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Varna and Bourgas, between February and April 2018.


The Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection initiated an awareness campaign in four cities in Bulgaria - Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Varna and Bourgas, between February and April 2018. The events aim to achieve broad public awareness on all issues related to the EU Data Protection Reform and the new legal framework created by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP). They target the general public, data controllers, and all related stakeholders.

In the course of the events, representatives of the national Data Protection Authority will present the key aspects of the legislation and the necessary practical steps to be undertaken by data controllers in order to implement the newly adopted standards for protection and processing of personal data in their activities and internal processes.

The timing of the events is as follows:

16 February 2018, Plovdiv

7 March 2018, Veliko Tarnovo

19 April 2018, Varna and

20 April 2018, Burgas.
