CARISMAND Project Website is Launched!

LIBRe fulfilled the production stage of the website of project CARISMAND (‘Culture And RISk management in Man-made And Natural Disasters’).

CARISMAND aims to deal with the issues of preparedness, response to disasters and after-crisis recovery which is inevitably influenced by cultural background of individuals and the society they live in. The project started in October 2015 and is run by a consortium of 19 partner organisations from 11 countries in Europe.

The launch of the CARISMAND website, which offers quick and easy access to essential information for the project, is part of the consortium’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information to disaster management stakeholders and citizens for the establishment, testing, and refinement of solutions for culturally-informed best practices in disaster management.

The website boasts a modern, colourful design and is divided into several sections: who we are, what we do, what is the field we work in. Each page provides detailed information on different aspects of cultural-enhanced disaster management practices and the CARISMAND efforts, activities and events in the field.

The website’s user-friendly nature provides users with more efficient access to the project’s resources. Other functions include a video and photo gallery and the possibility to download deliverables and publications developed under the project.

The website offers a special feature to our primary target groups: a Resources Section, where information on actors, systems, processes and policies in disaster management, cultural factors, risk perception and risk cultures, citizens’ rights, citizens’ empowerment, and risk communication, could be found and filtered depending on type of disaster or disaster phase.
