The Bulgarian DPA Published Clarifications on the Practical Application of the General Data Protection Regulation

As the national data protection authority, the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection has a responsibility to popularize, in a clear and plain language, the main elements of the EU data protection reform and the new legal framework that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) establishes.

As the national data protection authority, the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) has a responsibility to conduct a widespread awareness campaign which will popularize, in a clear and plain language, the main elements of the EU data protection reform and the new legal framework that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) establishes. The awareness activities of the Commission are with a permanent character and their goal is reaching the widest possible range of stakeholders – citizens and data controllers.

With this regard, as well as with respect to the upcoming event – the European Data Protection Day celebrate on 28th January, CPDP made two informative booklets, whose goal is to clarify key questions, which can ease the application of the GDPR. The booklets are titled „Practical Issues on Personal Data Protection beyond 25 May 2018” and “10 Practical Steps for the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation” (available only in Bulgarian).

Taking into account the dynamics of data protection processes, the information will be updated periodically and amended with important practical questions at hand.
