Ivo Emanuilov from LIBRe Foundation will share legal and research insights as part of the Brussels Legal Hackers’ Legal Design Jam: Drones. A Legal Design Jam is a collaborative creative session where complex legal information is broken down into a meaningful and easy to understand format.

The event will take place on the 17th October 2017, 19:00 CET and will focus on the practical problems, following the commercialisation and the growing popularity of drones.

The European Aviation Safety Agency is in favour of strengthening the upcoming new regulation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) with a regulation proposing measures to mitigate the risks of those systems. One of their suggestions is to require some categories of drones to be sold with an awareness leaflet. The leaflet is directed to the consumers and should contain all the information required to use the drone in accordance with the applicable regulations on aviation safety, security, privacy and data protection, liability and insurance.

One such draft leaflet will be produced by the participants at the Legal Design Jam, as the format provides the perfect opportunity to learn more about drones and to contribute to the existing framework.

The recording of Ivo Emanuilov's participation in the event is free to watch on the Brussels Legal Hackers Youtube channel.
