Alexandra Tsvetkova Took Part in the BAIT Members’ Autumn Meeting

A special guest this year was the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel.

Alexandra Tsvetkova, Director of the LIBRe Foundation, was among the invited to take part in this year's BAIT members’ autumn meeting. During the meeting Gabriel shared the priorities in the field of the digital economy, which will be on the agenda during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of EU.

According to her, it is important to work on the new electronic communications code, a key theme in which is the radio spectrum. Cyber security is another legislative package to be moved ahead during the Presidency.

No less important issues are the General Data Protection Regulation (better known simply as GDPR) and the draft ePrivacy Regulation. Among the priorities of the Bulgarian EU Commissioner are the increase of the digital skills of the Europeans, where further efforts are needed.

The President of BAIT Ognian Trayanov congratulated Mariya Gabriel for her active participation as Commissioner for Digital Policy and Society and briefed her on the activities of the Association.
