Legal Aspects of AI in the Field of Health: Registration is Now Open!


As part of the JuLIA Project, LIBRe Foundation organizes a 'Legal Aspects of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Health' Justice Lab. The event has an exclusive focus on the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare and is aimed at judges from all courts who deal professionally with healthcare cases or have an interest in the topic.

Ivo Emanuilov (LIBRe Foundation) and Boyan Dafov (GATE Institute) will discuss the technical aspects of artificial intelligence used in healthcare and will show some practical examples of application

Dr. Nevin Feti, lecturer at Sofia University and the National Institute of Justice, will speak about the processing of personal data in healthcare,

Dr. Theodora Lalova-Spinks, a postdoctoral fellow at Ghent University, Belgium, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Law from KU Leuven, Belgium, will touch on some practical issues of using data in clinical trials, and

Katerina Yordanova, lawyer and legal expert at imec - Center for IT & IP Law (CiTiP) at KU Leuven, Belgium, will comment on the issues of human rights protection in healthcare and the impact of artificial intelligence.

The objective of the webinar is to present practical case studies and encourage discussions on the role of data and how artificial intelligence affects fundamental rights in the healthcare context. The Justice Lab will present the European perspective on the risks, challenges and legitimacy of the use of these tools in the field of health with a special focus on fundamental rights.

The event will be held online, via the Zoom platform, on May 14, 2024 (Tuesday) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, in Bulgarian.
